Civil TV: Rich Homie Quan – Welcome to My Neighborhood
by Staff Editor
Rich Homie Quan is the latest big name to invite Karen Civil and her Civil TV series into his everyday life. In this episode, the “Walk Thru” rapper takes us through his hometown of Atlanta, where he dips into the studio to show us the process of creating his upcoming mixtape.
He says of the projectL
“I wanted to get fans acquainted with who Rich Homie Quan is, and where he wants to go, and what I want out of music.”
As far as his album is coming along, Quan reveals that he is about 60% done with it, and that the other 40% is depending on a release date deadline, and coming up with a title. He reveals that Drake, Boosie, and others have features on it.
Rich Homie also dives into some of the violence he has had to come across with, such as the results from a few weeks ago when him and his team got into a scuffle during a Adrien Broner match. He explains that he “could be going to check the mailbox, somebody could throw something at you just to be funny.”
Later in the episode, Quan takes us to his father’s house, which is where they both grew up in ATL, and McNair High School where he attended classes. He even shares some of the moments that determined the start of his rap career at a younger age.
While speaking on his close friendship with rapper Young Thug, he explains:
“That’s a real friendship. That’s my brother. The social network they can misconstrue things, but at the same time, me as an artist, I never let that deteriorate my mind or get to me because you’re going to think what you want to think.”
He also shares the story on losing contact with Birdman after meeting him, and how Young Thug was the reason that they rekindled their contact and established a relationship. Apparently, the two talked to each other twice a day everyday.
Quan takes us behind the creation of his clothing line in Atlanta, which was made possible by Jeezy, and how he was signed to the Think It’s A Game label.
So, what can we expect from Rich Homie Quan in the near future?
“A lot more excitement. A little more fun.”
“Every song I make, I try to make better than my last one.”

This here is dedicated to the Homie
You woke my soul to show me
The truth about life’s mystery
Dated back to the beginning of history
You see I was searching for my souls purpose
When Astrology I started to interpret
While sitting there contemplating
I found the beauty in meditating
Or should I say my creative visualization
While my spirits were levitating
In my ears on repeat, “Finally Made it”, was playing
Your melodies had my hand sketching
Quan, I know you WAS truly my disguised blessing
For seeking the knowledge and obtaining the lessons
You see music is the way I get my messages
And your music dictates my struggle
These 90 babies don’t know about being loyal
Money, Power, and Respect is there live by term
But real O. G.’s no Respect wasn’t given it was earned
It’s like everything you speak
Are pages in my diary
And when I’m mad you inspire me
To not give in to society
And take my glasses off to see straight through deceit
That light inside me so brightly shined
That day you made my soul and spirit combine
The feeling of joy that can only be described as Divine
Heaven on earth is what it combined
You see I died back in the month of June
To be rebirth with my sacred Atlantean tune
That’s ready to wake up other souls real soon
It’s like in another life you WAS my twin brother
Who understood me like no other
And the love sent my soul to the highest level
What I did was hit my souls devotion
Imagine being under a Happy Happy joy joy love potion
Even my body was set into a rhythmic motion
I felt what you felt when you Finally Made It
And we damn show ain’t basic
Spitting Nothing but the truth waiting on my dictations to take me places
Standing in the truth in every situations
I feel reloaded like you in your songs
And I swear I go in every poem
And neither did I graduate from college
But I dine anytime from that tree of knowledge
Number one in my class plus top scholars
When I chose my heart over millions of dollars
I know you have plenty of groupies, fans, and followers
Along with kinfolks, grimy chics and real petty cowards
However I want to show you my gratitude
For playing my sacred tune
Thank you for waking up my soul
Your loyalty I’ll forever hold
My life was baffled and mangled
Until the day I heard my guardian angle
Who UN knotted all the tangles
I just want to say thank YA
Wish I can do it in person
So as for now Ill write it in verses
S/o to the homie……. #real #humble #devoted #2twen2ty will see you some day!!! #Bahamas
