Switching gears a bit, it would be difficult to ignore anything in regards to Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim – what are your thoughts on Lil Kim’s “Identity Theft?”

Siya: That shit was hilarious.

Nyemiah Supreme: My initial thought artwork wise was like why? Just because, even if females do have issues with each other, I don’t like when they highlight the person. They’re giving that person too much attention. It deflects us being like yeah you got new music out when you’re staring at a picture of the person you’re making the music about. But, I did like how she was rapping on “Identity Theft.” It felt like that old, vintage Kim.

Siya: At the end of the day hip hop is a sport in a sense too. It’s friendly competition. Well, the way they throwing around it might be I have to smack a bitch when I see them for they type but its cool to sometimes put out records and show your lyricism and shit like that. But I think its gone too far honestly. I think both of them should focus on their own careers and start making some room for us. Fuck the bullshit.

Remy Ma said it best when she said it seems like the industry makes it seem like there can only be one, how do you think you and this Sisterhood can combat that?

Diamond: If you really a student of the game of hip hop you would know that it was always more than one female. From the Missy’s, to the Eve’s, to the Left Eye’s – the list goes on and on. We can keep going, we’ll all just throw in names. We’re in a digital and a viral time so people need to see it to believe it to see that it can be done. To watch what goes on behind closed doors and then see the actual product being out like oh damn I got 5. I got Brianna album, I got Bia, I got Nyemiah I got Siya – a whole catalog and you’re seeing the blueprint on how everything was done and that we can all coexist. It has always been that way. People don’t really know if they’re not a student of the game. That’s another good reason on why we’re doing this because we’re enlightening people because people really thought it was always Kim or always Foxy.

Brianna Perry: Especially the younger people that were coming up that don’t really know that much about hip hop.

Bia: My little sister thinks it is just Nicki.

Nyemiah Supreme: And anyone trying to come up after her it’s you’re trying to be like her.

Brianna: But there’s so many people that have influenced her so I just feel like we’re a new generation coming up and its time for change.

Siya: Hip hop is a revolving door so now it’s our turn.
