DESHAWN: Rae Srummund’s “No Flex Zone” is definitely the track that will takeover the summer. Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot Nigga” is indeed sizzling but what would it be without a two-step and a perfectly timed Vine clip? Hot in his borough doesn’t equate hot everywhere else as I’m sure without the craze plenty of people wouldn’t have gave the song a full play.

However, “No Flex Zone” is a hit based on it’s composition, the lyrics are catchy, the Mike WiLL Made It beat is addictive and it has already sparked a series of remixes from the likes of Nicki Minaj to Juicy J and Ace Hood to Pusha T. More important than anything else, Rae Srummund captured what the summer is all about, having fun! Plus, let’s be honest, nobody is really trying to turn up to people getting shot at. Sorry Shmurda.

The song is paired with a video where the fun continues. Rae Srummund captured all their raw footage from their SXSW visit and create a high-energy scene. Dancing on speakers, throwing out mixtapes, dancing in the back of their tour van, the “No Flex Zone” is real.

A rapid rise in the past several weeks shows the power of the song as a hit. What’s amazing is even with “No Flex Zone” currently hot and streaking up the charts, it hasn’t even hit its peak yet. Leave it to the young guys to create a track that would fill in this strange void of summer songs.
