Your new mixtape Free Lunch & Sallie Mae recently dropped. How’s the reception been?

On the mixtape, you announced your first major label EP coming this Fall. Can you give us some insight on what to expect?

Dee: Producers? It’ll be a surprise. Features? I want y’all to wait and see. Title? I’m literally going to decide the name of it this week. This is going to be a big moment, so I want that title to capture the moment right.

Who are you hoping to work with in the future?

Dee: Nas and India Arie.

When people hear “Dee-1” what do you want them to think?

Dee: I want em to think: “That man simultaneously changes lives and entertains people with his music. Somewhere, God is looking down on him smiling.”
