Civil Court: Will Bobby Shmurda Become A One-Hit Wonder?
by Staff Editor
JASON: For those hoping that Bobby Shmurda will become a one-hit wonder, don’t hold your breath. Trust me, I’m the first one to bash an overnight sensation and say that they’ll be nothing more than that one song that got them hot. But in Shurmda’s case? That’s just not true.
Aside from the fact that “Hot N***a” became the song of the summer in less than a few weeks, the 19-year old hitmaker has already gotten an enormous amount of cosigns from the biggest names in hip-hop: we all know by now that Bey hit the Shmoney dance during a tour stop with Hov, Meek brought the “Hot N***a” out to KOD, and just last week Shmurda inked a pretty deal with Epic Records.
The point is, Bobby Shmurda got the entire industry watching him off of one song, before having a major label push and major cosigns backing him. The good music will come because Sha Money XL and Epic Records have a successful history of breaking new artists. And to avoid any public meltdown, they’ll be sure to give Shmurda and his crew the proper training and preparation for the life that they’re about to take on.
Hit the Shmoney dance and get used to Bobby Shmurda because he will certainly be here for a while.
