ALLEY: Dearest, Robin Thicke. Your voice is amazing. Your love songs are endearing. But dedicating an entire album to win back the heart of your high school sweetie is, quite frankly, overkill. It’s bad enough that your breakup is unraveling under the microscopic public eye. Why just completely toss your dirty laundry in our faces for the sake of financial gain? It is one thing to have one song dedicated to asking your forgiveness, but an entire full-length album? That’s embarrassing.

Sure, no one knows what else has happened behind closed doors that is keeping Paula away, but I for one can understand why she may not even desire to press play on Paula. The desperation-laden lyrics are enough to lead to a guilt trip and possible next-day hangover.

Some situations simply cannot be fixed with the flexing of vocal chords and carefully constructed melodies. Some bad situations should be handled privately and given the air needed to right themselves or, unfortunately, remain as is. Capitalizing on your family drama and giving the public more ammo to fuel their own opinions is just pathetic. – Alley Olivier
