It’s rare for a rapper’s freestyle to lyrically capture you. For Lupe Fiasco, it’s a cakewalk. The Chicago-bred lyricist stopped by Sway In The Morning and laid down four minutes worth of bars leaving Sway and his team speechless.

Lupe didn’t reveal any information as to when his forthcoming Tetsuo and Youth album will drop but we can expect it sometime this year. For his latest musical offering, Lupe explained figuring out what the right direction was for “Mission.”

“It was like a eureka moment,” he explained. “I was listening to the beat in the car and I was like, ‘Fighting cancer.’ This is the song right here. Once I kind of established that that is what it was gonna be, I just started to pull from personal experiences that I had with people who are fighting cancer; St. Jude’s commercials. Just kind of every reference point that I had from a personal point to just kind of a more general point.”
