Will 50 Cent Return To Form with Animal Ambition?

But with all the work being put in, will it result in what the people want? Unfortunately for 50, nostalgia of his classic work will be the fans measuring stick. Just take a look at his recent Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2014 set. It seems 50’s power lies in the past (alongside Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck).

Whether we appreciate it or not, hip-hop will always be a game built on comparisons, but we should be more concerned of how the Queens spitter fits into today’s sound of rap: the West and the South have a vice grip on the sound once again, producers are swiping the styles of Mike WiLL Made It and DJ Mustard and New York artists are only recently beginning to snag more of the limelight (shoutout to Troy Ave), so who’s really to say that 50’s new product will revive the feeling you had when popping in a G-Unit Radio ‘tape almost 10 years ago? Might never happen.

What fans should be happy for is Fif’s dedicated return to music. And with a trek back into the spotlight that’s not highlighted by a lackluster beef (unless, of course, you want to mention the mishap with Slowbucks) or directly related to selling a product, 50 Cent’s got something to prove but don’t count him out just yet.
