Jay Z and longtime business manager John Meneilly have parted ways. Confidenti@l of the New York Daily News reports the business duo is no more, with one source stating for Meneilly, “it wasn’t his choice” while another says it was “amicable and mutual.”

John Meneilly was known to be part of Jay’s financial dealings for the past decade assisting with business ventures such as the launch and sell of Rocawear, the Magna Carta Samsung deal and the development of Roc Nation.

Forbes writer Zack O’Malley Greenburg referred to Meneilly as a straight businessman, adding to his credibility, after a 2011 meeting with for a book regarding Jay Z‘s business philosophy titled Empire State of Mind. Currently there is no word from either side of the split.
