Major record labels are notoriously known for telling artists which song is going to be the album’s single, or which beat they have to use, or what the hook will be for a certain song, and truthfully, it’s detrimental to the culture. When this happens, suddenly the music industry is turning into strictly a business and the “art” aspect flies out the window. The creators should be allowed to create without anyone stepping in the middle, and the only way to ensure that is by staying independent.
