Fabolous Recalls Drake’s Lyrics On ‘The Resistance’, Says It’s ‘One Of The Realest Things Ever’

Sway linked up with Fabolous recently for an unordinary episode of ‘Sway In The Morning’. For this sit down, Sway met up with Fab at a Brooklyn Nets game, where the 2 of them talked about Fab’s new Reebok deal, Allen Iverson, Jay Z’s involvement in sports and music, and much more while watching the game.
At the 8:37 mark, Loso talks about inspiration he gets from today’s rap game, particularly from Drake. He recalls lyrics from Drizzy’s old track “The Resistance” and says it’s one of the realest things he’s ever heard. Hit the jump to see what else Fab had to say about the track and watch the full interview above.
“I love listening to what’s going on in the club, but sometimes I need something that’s gonna push me in a different direction, like “Yea, he said something”. I told Drake. Drake is one of the guys from this generation and he can rap. No matter what you say about the kid, he can rap. I’m sure he has a lot of hooks and a lot of party records that everyone loves, but one of the realest things I heard was… I listened to one of his joints one time, and he said something about, he just heard his grandma got moved to a nursing home and he be acting like he don’t know how to work a phone, but if you look through his phone, you see that he just called some chick he met at the mall that he barely knows at all. That hit me so hard because I looked at it and said “Man, when was the last time I called my grand-moms?” You know what I’m saying? I had to stop the song and call my grand-moms. Rap used to do that to people, it used to make you live in what’s going on. I told him that’s my favorite shit he’s ever said.”
