Which celebrity were you most surprised congratulated you after you were nominated?
I didn’t even look at my Twitter till days later, so I lost a lot of my tweets but I think the tweet that I appreciated the most was probably by Angie Martinez or by 9th Wonder or even Phonte. These are people I grew up listening to, whether it was Angie on the radio or 9th’s production or Phonte when they created Little Brother. These are people that I really look up to, especially when it comes to music, and for them to be hitting me up like it’s nothing just to say congratulations, it made the day even bigger to me.

Now with all the good, you know there’s a pinch of bad. What do you say to the people who don’t think you deserve the nomination off your first project?
Everybody’s going to feel a certain way especially about the new kid on the block who hasn’t fully gotten his stripes, but it is what it is and it’s only the beginning. So if you’re mad now, you’re going to be mad later.
