New Video: SZA – ‘Teen Spirit’
by Karen
The first female singer officially stamped to the TDE imprint, SZA offers her visuals for “Teen Spirit,” a Wondagurl-produced track sprung from her forthcoming Z EP. Hauntingly, the New Jersey-bred brown girl sings as she walks about an abandoned home among balloons and water guns (fun, right?). But while the 23-year-old’s smoky vocals are the main event here, her fashion makes for a great backdrop. That’s probably why Vogue copped the first look.
“From color correction to set choice to dressing myself in dirty T-shirts and random Marni pieces and refusing a stylist and makeup artist,” she says of the solo clip. “I figured if I was going to fail, I’d do it on my own terms.”
If this is SZA’s official coming out party, we’re attending. Press play.
