SZA is the newest Top Dawg Entertainment signee and first female to add a little estrogen to the all-male mix. Stopping by MTV, the 23-year-old singer explains what it’s like to roll with Kendrick, Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul.

“The don’t treat me like the girl, like, in the best ways though,” she says. “No one tries to baby me or walk over me ’cause I’m a girl. They let me fight for what I believe in and let me be as creative as I wanna be and just give me free reign. I love that.”

And although she didn’t celebrate her new deal with “champagne and a car,” the rising songbird says she’s gotten so much more. “They’ll give you all the studio time you could ever ask for and every producer you could ever dream of and all the support you could ever want, and that’s real.”
