2 Chainz makes a gutsy decision by trying to recreate Michael Jackson’s classic video for “Thriller,” for his own video “Freebase” off of the same-titled mixtape that he recently dropped.

In this Dos Cadenas-directed video, Chainz rocks the same red leather jacket that MJ wore in the “Thriller” video and does a fairly decent job re-enacting the entire video. From the opening car scene, to the frightening monsters, Tity Boi gives the classic Michael Jackson video a hip-hop spin, without doing the Thriller dance. Thankfully. Just like MJ did for his video, 2 Chainz posted a short message on the screen prior to the video starting.

Following MJs antics, 2 Chainz gives his own disclaimer before the video as well: “This video is for entertainment purposes only and dedicated to one of my favorite artists. In no kind of way is it our intent to disrespect the legacy of the greatest entertainer of all time.”
