Pharrell will grace New York’s historic Apollo Theater stage to kick off American Express’ Unstaged concert series June 3 in partnership with Vevo and Youtube. The super producer’s solo act will stream live with an accompanying production by Spike Lee. The live stream will be free but tickets have been on sale via Ticketmaster since May 23.

“Spike Lee is an incredible visionary and I’m thrilled he agreed to collaborate with me for American Express Unstaged,” Pharrell said. “I know with his direction, this will be a really special experience.”

The singer-songwriter will represent the 14th installment of the series that showcases some of the most influential musicians alongside seasoned filmmakers to direct the live stream. Lee first teamed up with Unstaged in 2010 when he collaborated with John Legend and The Roots.

“I am excited to collaborate with Pharrell and can’t wait to help put together a really impressive show for fans,” Spike Lee said. “As a filmmaker, the American Express Unstaged platform is really a great vehicle that enables digital innovation and will help share our creative vision with a global audience.”
