Kendrick Lamar has been pretty busy these days and is showing no signs of slowing down. In addition to the Compton rapper working on his sophomore album, he’s getting his feet wet in the film industry. According to Fader, Lamar is teaming up with director Kahlil Joseph to bring his 14-minute film M.A.A.D to life at the first annual Sundance Next film festival.

The festival will showcase min-films and directors and rising actors at the Ace Hotel downtown Los Angeles on August 9. The film has been described as a “a kaleidoscope of story lines and ideas that defy typical categorization to explore new languages and new forms,” Fader reports. It features a “fresh-faced cast plucked from L.A. corners.”

After the film is debuted their will be a panel discussion where both Lamar and Joseph will participate. Purchase your tickets here.
