It’s been a long, legal road coming but JoJo is now free to sing her own tune with Atlantic Records – leaving Blackground behind for good. With fresh ink on her Atlantic deal, the 23-year-old songbird is already working on her long awaited third album, The Los Angeles Times reports.

The Masachussets-bred singer was able to keep her cool and satisfy her fans with two mixtapes 2010′s Can’t Take That Away From Me and 2012′s Agápē while her #FreeJoJo campaign reigned on.

Now that she is no longer being held hostage, JoJo plans to release her album in December and can be seen on the big screen Friday in the comedy G.B.F.
