“I do not hate the police. I hate the way they policing” – Dayne Carter.
“Yo, if you’re down, I would love to create a track about everything going on right now.” That was the text Junior “Junyouare” Obour, a dental student at Rutgers University sent to his close friend and NBA 2k20 featured rapper, Dayne Carter last week.
A few days later, they both went to the studio and recorded a raw and honest song that addresses the current social climate from the perspective of two college-educated black men in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Additionally, they are donating 100% of all proceeds earned (via iTunes purchase) to Color or Change – a nonprofit that “designs campaigns to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward.”
