With all the negative news we are currently facing including the wildfires in Australia and the political wars between Iran and America, it’s good to see positivity. While on tour in Austrailia, Lizzo stopped at the Foodbank Victoria in the Melbourne location to serve the fire-affected regions in need.

Along with the hardworking team and volunteers that has worked in the Foodbank Victoria warehouse for the past 6 days, Lizzo packed bags and posed with fans. The food bank website strongly encourages people to donate and volunteer. After many residents were isolated with a lack of access to food, water, electricity, and communication, Foodbank Victoria sent items to Mallacoota by sea to assist. The Grammy award nominee’s gesture shocked the volunteers at the food charity Foodbank when she walked into the warehouse wearing an orange vest and blue gloves. The volunteers were told someone special would visit the facility, but they assumed it would be a politician, and no one guessed it would be a rapper. One volunteer said that Lizzo was everything you’d expect her to be and that she made an emotional speech on how she shared her love and support for Australia. After many residents were isolated with a lack of access to food, water, electricity, and communication, Foodbank Victoria sent items to Mallacoota by sea to assist. Evacuation activities were carried out by several volunteer groups. Since most of the volunteers had their company logo on their custom printed hard hat (similar to fire safety workers), residents could easily identify the team without any confusion.

Earlier this week, Lizzo performed at the Sydney Opera House and the Forum Melbourne. She will continue to grace more stages in Australia including the FOMO music festival and New Zealand throughout the rest of the month.
