There is a new, young talent on the scene, Baltimore Native YBS Skola. Twenty-four-year-old Dajuan Cannady, known as YBS Skola, pursued rap after encouragement among his family and YBS crew. While incarcerated for firearm and drugtrafficking, Skola dropped his latest contribution to music with first full-length LP, “Minor Setback.” The fresh release of the project is centered around the Baltimore rapper’s 5-year prison sentence and the positive attitude he continues to have for the remainder of his jail sentence.

Grammy-nominated rapper and activist Meek Mill came through with an assist for Skola which can be found on track #13 “Blow A Bag.” BET Hip Hop Awards cypher freshman Bandhunta Izzy was another special guest that provided a verse on the project. Additional contributions to the project include local lyricists NFL Vicky, 3 Glizzy, Young Moose, and Nell.

“I needed to feel this pain. I needed to go through this. I’m still the only hope mane, just a minor setback for a major comeback. I’m coming back better than when I left. You can’t find this swag anywhere. I’m the chosen one,” Skola explains about his project.
