“Brown Skin Girl” was released back in July as part of “The Lion King: The Gift” soundtrack. The track features vocals from Beyoncé, Guyanese SAINt JHN, Nigerian singer WizKid, and Blue Ivy. Blue Ivy’s vocals can be heard at the beginning and end of the track as she sings the chorus: “Brown skin girl, your skin just like pearls, the best thing in the world, never trade you for anybody else.”

The influential hit went viral over the summer after many Black women and girls partcipated in uploading their self-appreciation videos, many of which were posted to both Beyoncé and her mom, Tina Knowles-Lawson’s Instagram accounts. Having not finished elementary school yet, Blue Ivy has already started making her list of accomplishments.
