Step Up is an all time favorite movie for most. For those who used to be and are currently dance-crazed teens, Youtube Premium’s hit series Step Up – High Water (based off the successful film franchise) is back for season 2 with its music taking center stage.

Grammy award-winning artist, Ne-Yo is a series regular and plays, Sage, a megastar entertainer. To add to his character, Ne-Yo wrote 3 original songs, the first one being “Genisis.” 

To set the scene, this season kicks off with Ne-Yo (Sage) gearing up for his world tour. “Genesis ” is the opening number that reflects on his life’s journey – growing up in Atlanta to becoming a superstar. Taking inspiration from classic sounds, “Genisis” is the sonic embodiment of past to present.
