Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated ‘Tha Carter V’ album was allegedly supposed to drop on Sep. 21, but when the day came, it was nowhere to be found. This made many fans go crazy and some even expressed their disappointment after being hyped up with a false release date.

A source close to Wayne’s camp spoke with TMZ and said that the hype surrounding September 21 as the release date for ‘Tha Carter V’ was all generated by “pure speculation that somehow morphed into conspiracies.” Young Money only teased the album cover, they never mentioned a release date.

The start of the Sep. 21 rumored was pinpointed back to when Floyd Mayweather posted the album cover on Instagram earlier this month with the caption “#21.”

This led everyone to believe the album was dropping September 21 at midnight. Floyd eventually deleted the post after seeing it mislead many.

Even James Harden posted the cover and later deleted it, followed by Michael Vick and Kobe Bryant on Friday posting the album cover via Instagram. Reginae, Weezy’s daughter, also posted the album cover on IG, but her caption only read “#C5.”

Lil Wayne himself hasn’t made any comments in regards to the September 21 release date or an official release date as of yet. Until then, fans will just have to be a little more patient.
