Lil Durk Mourns Lost Friends On ‘Cross Roads’
by Site Manager
Making his mark with melodic rap music, Lil Durk always wears his heart on his sleeve.
On “Cross Roads,” Durk struggles to succumb to his emotions, mourning his lost friends and contemplating his own mortality. Channeling the famous chorus from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s ’90s classic “Tha Crossroads,” Durk delves deep within himself, declaring his love for his daughters and shouting out the recently departed Fredo Santana.
“Bone Thugs is one of my favorite rap groups of all time,” says Lil Durk. “I listened to them all the time when I was a kid. They’re a major influence on my music and one of the reasons I started rapping in the first place. ‘Cross Roads’ is a homage to them, as well as to the important people I’ve lost recently.”
