Michael B. Jordan Honors ‘Black Panther’ on The Cover of British GQ
by Staff Editor
With the biggest movie debut of 2018 queued for next week, Michael B. Jordan is the latest face to grace British GQ.
The star of the highly anticipated mega-hit Black Panther shared his thoughts on what this Marvel movie means to both him and those he represents. “I feel like I never had that many actors to look at and inspire me growing up,” he told British GQ. “Black actors that I could identify with, that look like me on screen. … And I’m just thinking about what this movie is going to do to the kids growing up … specifically black kids who don’t have that many positive examples to look at on TV and film.”
On the cover, Jordan wears the traditional Black Panther Party dress of black turtleneck, leather jacket and beret. Read the full interview here as we anticipate the film’s opening night on Feb. 16.
“We’re giving black people power, royalty – we don’t gotta be crackheads or gangbangers, selling drugs or robbing people. We don’t have to be comic relief. We can be superheroes.” – New GQ cover and @theblackpanther star #MichaelBJordan. https://t.co/LfZV37wmbp
