Suge Knight’s fiancee Toi-Lin Kelly has been sentenced to 3 years in jail for violating her probation in connection with Suge’s murder trial, the Los Angeles Times reports.
After taking a plea deal just a few months ago, Kelly was given probation in order to avoid jail time. Part of the terms was having very limited communication between Suge and according to the report, Kelly aided Suge in “arranging interviews with the producers of a BET documentary about Death Row Records, the record label he founded in the early 1990s.” The judge also found that Kelly was communicating with Suge via a private investigator, which was also against the terms.
“To me it’s pretty blatant, and frankly, jaw-dropping,” Judge Sortino said. The LA Times also add that the judge felt like he got “slapped in the face” with this clear disrespect.
Despite pleading to the judge to reconsider his sentencing, he ultimately decided otherwise and sentenced her to 3 years in jail. As for Suge, his trial is set for April.
