Fredo Santana has died at age 27 due to liver and kidney failure. Reports of the rapper’s death surfaced online via Maxo Kream, supported by Lil Durk, Drake and others.

The rapper recently documented his medical struggle online sharing with his followers about affects of lean and warning both fans and peers to stay away from the popularized hip-hop mix.

Fredo was instrumental in the wave of Chicago artists who shook hip-hop with the drill sub genre. He is also the older cousin of fellow Chicago product Chief Keef. We will update the story with more details as they come available. Prayers out to the family of Fredo Santana.
