Yesterday, Kehlani released a cinematic visual for her song “Honey,” the October release that shed light on her endearing new relationship with girl friend Shaina Negron. In the video, the Sweet Sexy Savage singer belts the lines of her acoustic track in between romantic scenes. As she and her lovely co-star, Aariana Johnson, hang out with the bees and picnic among the trees, the pair paint one of many depictions of love.

A certified “win” from the LGBTQ community, it’s safe to say that this video is a head nod to love equality. On Instagram, Kehlani mentioned choosing Johnson for her look, explaining “this song was inspired by an androgynous woman, and I wanted to find someone who fell in line with that, who was ‘hard’ yet so so soft. I was asked ‘why not use a feminine girl?’ , but I knew I wanted to honor the inspiration, and paint the picture of the sweet tender aspect that shines through every woman, no matter what.”
