The year of 2017 brought about many things, but For fans, the most special occurrence came with the resurgence of Vic Mensa’s presence and the release of his debut album, The Autobiography. A project that not only tells his story, the body of work also presents Vic at his most vulnerable. Since its release, the rapper/singer has only flourished more since then.

Hitting the stage on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Mr. Mensa brought forth the passion with his “We Could Be Free” cut. A powerful song all in itself, the message was only driven further home with the rapper’s delivery and background singers with robes labeled with Sexual Abuse, Police Brutality, Domestic Violence, and Mass Incarceration.

An amazing showing, you can currently get more of Vic on the road as he serves as JAY-Z’s “4:44 Tour” opener, along with solo dates of his own. A must-watch, check out the performance, below.
