OJ Simpson is a free man!

The former US football star and actor OJ Simpson has been released on parole after 9 years in a Nevada jail, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Simpson had been serving time for armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and 10 other charges over a 2007 confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel. In 1995, the 70-year-old was declared not guilty of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goodman.

Earlier this year, he was approved for early parole release in a board hearing. The Department of Corrections released a short video of OJ Simpson exiting the prison, as well as a photo of him signing release papers.
