It’s been a cool minute since we last heard from David Banner, and today, the one half of the rap duo Crooked Lettaz debuts a brand new song for fans to enjoy.

Titled “Magnolia,” the rapper calls on some assistance from his good friends CeeLo Green and Raheem Devaughn.

“The song represents the relationship of trees in Mississippi and Africans throughout history.” Banner told HNHH. “The taller the tree, the broader the story, the shorter the tree, the more personal the perspective is. My verse is about the relationship of the magnolia tree and African’s during slavery.”

“Magnolia” is set to be off David Banner’s new project, The God Box, which will be dropping in stores this Friday, May 19th.
