Back in February, Syd gave fans an incredible body of work with Fin, her debut solo project.

During the recording sessions, Syd cut a track titled “Treading Water” that was intended for the album, but ended up getting pulled last minute. To make sure fans heard it at some point, Syd comes through and releases the full version, which she said on Twitter, “This was my favorite song on #FIN before i had to cut it.”

You’ll likely notice that the instrumental is from Big Sean and Jhene Aiko’s track “Selfish,” which also explains why the song got cut from Syd’s album.
