Martin Lawrence fans, get ready!

In addition to his forthcoming film with Will Smith Bad Boys 3, which fans have been dying for, Martin Lawrence has teamed up with Showtime to air his first stand up comedy special in over 14 years!

According to Showtime, the special, Martin Lawrence Doin’ Time: Uncut will feature “impressions and insights” on “everything from sex and relationships to President Obama, Bill Cosby, Hollywood and more.” This will be Martin’s first stand up special since his 2003 classic Runteldat

“I look forward to having my third concert film premiere on Showtime. Fourteen years is a long time between concert specials and I am excited to know that my TV audience will be able to enjoy this show as if they came to see me live,” said Lawrence in a statement.

The outspoken comedian never shies away from controversy, like he did in his 1994 special You So Special, where part of his act was discussing police brutality and racism. With the ongoing racial and police issues we’re currently facing in society, I’d expect Lawrence to go right back to his roots this time around.

The special will air on September 9th at 9:00PM EST via Showtime and is executive produced by Lawrence and Studio71’s Gary Binkow and Michael Green. Are you excited for a new Martin Lawrence stand up special? Let us know in the comments section below.
