DMK

2016 has been a year of resurgence for R&B. There have been great projects releasing and a rise of quality artists. Within that rise is the reinvigoration of the need for R&B groups. The ladies of DMK are here to assist in that need.

Composed of 22 year old’s Damoli and Melanee and 21-year-old Kourtney, DMK is emerging from Detroit, Motown, the hub of R&B and soul staples. Within their rise the trio are creating a buzz for themselves with recent video for “Love The Way You Love,” which was debuted via TIDAL, and their latest single “On My Way Over.” In addition to their releases, DMK is prepared to show their acting abilities that they have honed over the years and are currently finalists to appear on this season of FOX’s hit show Empire.

With the growth of their careers, DMK shows the importance of girl groups as they radiate positivity and show a genuine love for their fellow members, a counter to rumors and misconceptions that can be associated.

For our latest Civil Scope we spoke with the ladies of DMK to discuss making it to be an Empire finalist, the origins of their group, what’s up next and more.
