In a performance for the history books, Wale returned to the White House for the third time on Tuesday night (January 12).

The Washington D.C native became the first rapper to open a State of the Union Address, as he performed just before President Obama gave his State of the Union.

The Grammy-nominated rapper also announced the title of his fifth studio album SHINE, which follows up the success of his 2015 album, The Album About Nothing.

Wale previously visited the White House over the summer to perform at First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Reach Higher” initiative, and most recently was in attendance for President Obama’s emotional gun control announcement, alongside Amy Schumer.

Big ups to Wale, and check out the footage below from last night at the White House.
