Coldplay Will Perform During the Halftime Show of Super Bowl 50

As the NFL regular season nears a close there are teams battling for playoff position to hopefully compete for Super Bowl 50. However, for one group, Coldplay, there is no more competition as they have been named the headliners of he halftime show for the big game.

The Wall Street Journal broke the news of Coldplay’s opportunity and the formal announcement came during this week’s Thursday Night Football game.

“We are so excited and honored and thrilled to be playing the halftime show,” lead singer Chris Martin shared in a video response. “It’s going to be wonderful and hope we see you there.”

If you aren’t familiar with Coldplay, or just are in need for some new music from the band, their new album, A Head Full of Dreams, will hit retailers on Friday (December 4).
