The reigning king of mixtapes better known as Future recently sat down with Mass Appeal to break down his musical catalogue. As the magazine’s latest cover star, the 56 Nights rapper shared his thoughts and inspiration behind each of his mixtapes. When asked about his latest project, the coveted ‘What A Time To Be Alive’, his response left many scratching their heads in confusion.

“It never happened, you know what I’m saying,” he said, “It never happened.”

Um. Come again? The colossal pairing of Future and Drake not only had the internet buzzing for weeks on end but placed the duo atop the Billboard 100 charts and moved 500,000 copies within it’s first week. With that said, we’re pretty sure #WATTBA definitely did happen.

As for whether or not Future’s comments were a slight towards Drizzy, the world may never know. Drake recently took to his Instagram to send Future birthday wishes referring to him as his “brother.” So, who knows what to truly make of Future’s statement.

Perhaps, Future Hendrix is simply trolling us all. Watch his full interview with Mass Appeal below.
