Ebro In The Morning Addresses Not Playing Meek Mill’s Diss Track
by Staff Editor
Last night (July 27) will go down as one of the most memorable nights in hip-hop this year. The whole industry was anxiously awaiting Meek Mill’s response diss track to Drake following Drizzy’s “Charged Up” record.
The word on the street was Hot 97’s own Funkmaster Flex had the prized diss track in his possession and was going to premiere it on his show last evening. After about an hour into his show, fans became anxious and started to get riled up, tweeting a storm of hate towards Hot 97 and Flex for not playing the song. Another half hour – hour goes by and the entire Twittersphere was fed up. By the end of the night, it was clear that Flex wasn’t going to play the diss track and fans were incredibly disappointed, blaming Flex and Hot 97 for the whole thing.
But, like they say, there’s two sides to every story.
Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning crew addressed this controversy today on their show and said that Flex didn’t play the diss track because he never had it in his possession. He was apparently waiting on Meek’s team to send it over. Ebro, Rosenberg and Laura Stylez all said that they were waiting on the track just like we were and that Flex is not to blame.
So, what do you think? Do you believe Hot 97, or did Flex drop the ball? Watch Ebro’s explanation above and weigh in.
