Azealia Banks will star in an upcoming Lionsgate/Codeblack film titled Coco, directed by Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA and also staring Jill Scott and Common.

Coco will be a drama set in Banks hometown of Brooklyn, where a young aspiring rapper who is persuaded to put her music plans on hold to please her parents wishes of getting a formal education. However, the character finesses a way to achieve her goals of becoming a mc after being inspired by spoken word at school.

Both Coco and Banks’ life share the same storyline, since she too dropped out of school to pursue her music career. Banks who has been in the news more for Twitter feuds is now getting a chance to show off her acting chops. Will you be anticipating Coco‘s premiere?
