If you’re hip to what’s going on in the music industry and what people are listening to, then you know about L.A. rapper Boogie and his hot single “Oh My.” Last year, Boogie dropped his first project, Thirst 48 which was one of the most slept-on projects of 2014. Boogie’s new breakout single “Oh My” reminds us of when Dej Loaf’s “Try Me” or ILoveMakonnen’s “Tuesday” became viral transforming them into some of the hottest artists this year.

The 25-year-old rapper has a banger with the Jahlil Beats-produced “Oh My.” The song’s video has been out since April and it’s gained over 450,000 views on YouTube –which isn’t too bad. The high-energy summer anthem could help break Boogie into mainstream.

Boogie is getting prepared to release his next project, The Reach, on June 24. Complex was able to sit down with the L.A. rapper and talk to him about how going to church​​ got him into rapping, how he got shot in his foot (ouch!), and how he changed his lifestyle once his son was born.
