Only one month away until hip hop’s legendary group, Slum Village, release their new album, YES!, featuring several unreleased beats from the late musical genius, J Dilla. The Detroit based hip hop group reveals a single off of the album with one of those unreleased Dilla beats, titled “Expressive.” The record delivers a deeply funky, tip toeing vintage vibe featuring timeless vocals from BJ the Chicago Kid.

SV gets behind the track and weighs in on how they express themselves towards beautiful independent women. BJ sings, “This for my sexy ladies, independent, from all around the world, I love sexy women/And all my beautiful ladies, I love what you’re doing/And when you hear this song…”

Slum Village’s YES! will be released June 16 and is available now for pre-order on iTunes. Additional guests on the project include De La Soul, Black Milk, Phife Dawg, Jon Connor, Bilal, and more. Stream “Expressive” below, and share your thoughts.
