Civil TV: Waka Flocka Talks Bringing EDM To Hip-Hop, Being Around Kanye, And More
by Staff Editor
Waka Flocka has been working hard to change the music game for years now, and now he’s gearing up for an even bigger challenge: trying to change the world. A few weeks ago, the “Hard In The Paint” rapper announced that he is running for President in the 2016 election, and is hoping to count on our votes. While he may be busy working on his campaign, he’s not ignoring the things he loves most, which are his music, entertaining his fans, and especially his wife Tammy Rivera.
Despite his busy schedule from his new Turn Up Godz Tour with DJ Whoo Kid, and putting out project after project as he readies Flockaveli 2 for this summer, Waka is making sure to keep his home a very happy one. The couple has just celebrated their first full year of marriage earlier this year, which he says “ain’t nothing changed” from their dating days. As far as building their family, Waka reveals, “When the time is right. You can’t rush greatness.”
Sitting down for our Civil TV interview before his insane concert at Webster Hall in NYC, Waka reflects on his admiration for Kanye West, and what it was like to hit the stage with him for his Roc City Classic show during All-Star Weekend. “`Ye smart as shit. I still don’t deserve a Kanye feature, or to even say something on the microphone,” he remarks.
