In a documentary based in the “birthplace of hip-hop,” Action Bronson, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers, and Le1f showcase their individuality. Directed by Robert Lopuski (Watch The Throne doc.), the short web documentary does not operate as your standard interview reel.

“There’s this almost transcendent quality of being nobody in pursuit of something great—the idea of becoming a Lord,” Lopuski said. “It felt fragile but charged, raw, dream like, ritualistic.”

Opening with children praying for riches, the documentary moves to capture the rappers in the studio and other various places.

“Seeing weird rappers really helped me,” Le1f said. “Let me do what I wanted to do.”
