Kendrick Lamar Rolling Stone

Last night (March 10), Kendrick Lamar dropped the cover to his latest album and less than 24 hours covered Rolling Stone. In the cover story for the historic magazine K Dot dons a Chicago White Sox Starter jacket while getting hasher twisted.

Titled “The Trials of Kendrick Lamar,” the Compton representative spoke and previewed his To Pimp a Butterfly album, in which Rolling Stone describes as “adventurous, incorporating elements of funk, spoken-word poetry, and free-jazz, augmented by lots of live playing.”

Rolling stone inquired the meaning behind the To Pimp a Butterfly title, which he didn’t provide a direct answer but stated, “That will be taught in college courses someday.

“You take a black kid out of Compton and put him I the limelight, and you find answers about yourself you never knew you were searching for,” Kendrick said. “There’s some stuff in there, man. It’s a roller coaster. It builds.”
