K. Michelle’s success often comes with a grain of salt. Despite her sophomore LP Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart grabbing the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B/Hip Hop chart, her good fortune is overshadowed by beef.
Sitting down with Shay Diddy before taking the stage to kick off her My Twisted Mind Tour in San Francisco, K. likened herself to Kanye West as well as clarified Uncle Murda’s unsavory comments in regards to her “hot pocket.”
“In the first place, the level and caliber of men I date don’t know no Uncle Murda,” she clarifies. “Like, I don’t even know you. So you were just on Love & Hip Hop I saw the other night, rapping. You know where your career is if you’re a rapper on Love & Hip Hop.”
The songstress goes on to shoot down other rumors in regards to her beefing with Nicki Minaj. The E-streets were set ablaze in speculation when an Instagram video of Michelle twerking went viral. The song in the background happened to be one by Nicki’s ex, SB.
“I love Nicki Minaj! I love what she’s done for female rap. That’s all I can say about that,” she explains. “If she took offense to me bouncing my ass to her ex’s song, [then] I’m sorry, but I will bounce my ass to ‘Mary Had a Little Lamb.’ It’s no shade from that. It’s no issue.”
