Johnny Manziel, better known as Johnny Football, had one of the most memorable rookie seasons in the NFL, but unfortunately it was mostly thanks to his off the field antics. The Cleveland Browns QB has entered a treatment program on Wednesday to ‘improve himself’ as a person, according to ESPN. Here’s what Brad Beckworth, spokesman for Manziel, had to say:

Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate, and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step,” Beckworth said. “On behalf of Johnny and his family, we’re asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland.

According to a source, Johnny is expected to be in a rehab facility similar to this center for at least a few weeks, but the amount of time is dependent on the doctor’s recommendations. Browns’ GM Ray Farmer said, “We respect Johnny’s initiative in this decision and will fully support him throughout this process. Our players’ health and well-being will always be of the utmost importance to the Cleveland Browns.”

For those who don’t know, Johnny Manziel was the epitome of a party animal. His friendships with Drake, LeBron and damn near every other celebrity makes it tough for the 22-year old kid to stay focused. Hopefully this short stint at rehab will wake him up for good and allow him to become one of the best QBs in the league, which many think he has the potential to do.
