D’Angelo Performs on ‘SNL’

Last night was a moment people had been waiting for ever since D’Angelo dropped the bomb that was his Black Messiah LP in December. The singer carried the energy of the album perfectly as he gave a rendition of “Really Love” on the “Saturday Night Live” stage last night.
Then, D’Angelo and his band, The Vanguard, donned “I Can’t Breathe” and “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts as they echoed the climate of the country, and New York specifically, and performed “The Charade.”
For some, this was a perfect way to start Black History Month.
