California-born, Bed Stuy-raised femcee, SIYA is on a mission to be heard and recognized for her music — not her sexuality. The openly lesbian rapper was hand-selected by rapper T.I. to appear on Oxygen’s “Sisterhood Of Hip-Hop” reality series, for her bars and intriguing background, allowing her to get her name out there in a major way. Fast-forwarding to today, SIYA has just released her brand new mixtape Better Late Than Never with the support of her mentor and star singer Tank and his label Sound Base Ent. The 11-track project includes features from Chris Brown, Problem and more and is another piece of evidence that SIYA’s a star in the making.
