Dear Women, You’re All Beautiful

Ladies, listen up. As a man, I’m here to tell you something very, very important – you’re beautiful! I don’t care what you’re wearing right now, or what you wore last night, or how much you weigh, or how tall or short you are, or any of that superficial nonsense; beauty lies from within and as cliché as that sounds, it’s the damn truth.

Over the last few years, hip-hop has failed in explaining that very concept to our young girls, the truth that you’re all beautiful. Instead, the most popular female celebrities, specifically musicians, have put such an emphasis on their looks and twerking ability rather than their personalities, and it’s becoming detrimental to our society. From ass shots to plastic surgery to changing the color of your eyes permanently, women in the spotlight of fame (reality tv or otherwise) are sending a very negative message to the 12, 13 and 14-year old girls who idolize them. Whilst it can seem like a lot of musicians are promoting these things, it’s an individual choice at the end of the day. These musicians can’t force anyone to copy them and it’s likely that they got plastic surgery to feel more confident in their own body. It’s so important that women get plastic surgery if they’re sure they want it. Insecurities can be overwhelming for young women, so many do look to plastic surgery to feel more confident and that’s okay! If anyone looks at their bum in the mirror and cries about its appearance, then sure, go and have some cellulite treatment to help give it a smoother appearance. There are mothers out there who have had children and perhaps don’t love their belly as much as before and if they want a tummy tuck to help them feel more confident, then no one should stop them. The point being, surgery and treatments should be done to boost self-esteem and allow someone to feel confident in their skin, not because someone famous has told them too. If any women do want to try and overcome their insecurities, they could contact a plastic surgeon like Dr. Azizi to complete these surgeries for them. Hopefully, that will make more women feel confident. All women are beautiful, and they should be proud of their bodies. Plastic surgeries can help more people feel proud and beautiful. However, women should be aware of some of the dangers present with plastic surgery like getting textured breast implants which have been linked to anaplastic large cell lymphoma, a cancer of the immune system. Those who have experienced this for themselves may want to take legal action with a breast implant lawsuit in order to seek some kind of justice for their unfortunate situation.

However, despite all of these benefits to plastic surgery, some people are still against it and pose the question “don’t you think it’s time to change all that?”

The easy way out would be to blame the parents for allowing their daughters to pay attention to “Anaconda” or TMZ, and in turn adopting these harmful mentalities. But let’s be honest: unless you lock your daughter in her room her whole life, she’s going to be exposed to the seductiveness of pop culture whether you like it or not. Even if she doesn’t have an iPhone or iPad or her own computer, chances are her best friend does and they’re most likely talking about how hot Rihanna looked on the cover of Esquire UK the other day, instead of the women empowerment movements that are happening every day. It’s just the way things are these days.
